Pay for the film, not the month.

One film, one payment, then we leave you alone. Five people is free, one at a time. A hundred people with a longer roll is usually £27, and unlimited shots is £9 on any of them.

What a guest pays

Guests never pay, and never make an account.

Guests open a link and use the camera in their browser. They do not pay. The host pays for the selected film size and roll length; additional guests may require a later price adjustment.

Five people is free, one film at a time. After that the price is the guest cap plus the film length, the same way you used to buy another roll, not another month. A film can run for 14 nights.

You host four times a year. Why would you pay twelve?

Each event has its own film. Pay once for the people and roll length you choose, with no monthly or annual renewal.

A photo app at £9 a month charges in all twelve months, £108 a year. A Capsule film is charged once, in the month the event happens: £27.

Do guests pay anything?

Never. Guests can open the invitation link and use the camera in their browser without paying, registering or downloading the app.

Can I use Capsule for free?

Yes. One free film at a time, for up to five people with twelve shots each. No card. Delete your existing free film or choose a paid film to create another. Longer rolls cost £3 for 24 shots, £6 for 36 or £9 for unlimited shots.

How is the price determined?

Two things: how many people can shoot, and how many shots each of them gets. Ten people is £2. A hundred people is £24, or £27 with a 24-shot roll. Unlimited shots is £9 on top of any of them, the same way a second roll used to be.

How long can a film run?

Fourteen nights, first to last. A dinner, a wedding weekend or a two-week trip. Each event has its own film.

What happens when I hit the guest limit?

Free films allow up to five people. Paid films can accept additional guests beyond the purchased size, up to 1,000 people in total, including the host. The host can settle the price difference afterwards.

Who owns the photos?

The people who took them. We hold them for you and hand them back at full resolution. We do not train anything on them and we do not license them to anyone.

What if nobody uses it?

Then you have lost nothing on a free film. A paid film is bought through the App Store, so Apple gives the refund: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. And tell us what happened. We would rather have the feedback.
