Before the night
Choosing a seal and develop time
Seal when the event starts and develop the next morning. Guests can shoot right up to the seal time; nothing is visible in between.
Inviting guests without a phone number
Print the QR from the share screen and put it on the table. It works for anyone who can point a camera at a square.
Using your own invitation card
On a paid film you can upload artwork and the QR sits on top of it. It prints clean at A5, which is the size that fits on a table without being a poster.
Adding a co-host
Co-hosts can invite guests, change shot counts and pull frames. They cannot delete the film.
During, and the morning after
Changing shots per guest mid-event
You can raise it any time. Lowering it will not take back shots people already have.
Extending a film after it has sealed
You get an hour of grace from the film screen, for the party that ran long. After that the roll is closed — that is the promise everyone shot under, and it is the only reason the waiting works.
Pulling a photo from a film
Open the frame and choose Remove. It goes from every copy, including downloads that have not happened yet.
Downloading the whole roll
One zip, full resolution, from the develop screen. The link keeps working, so you can send it again to the cousin who deleted the email.
Something went wrong at the party
Write to help@trycapsule.app with the film name and roughly when it happened. Shots sit in storage long before anyone is allowed to see them, so a film that looks empty is usually not.
For guests
You were sent a link and handed twelve shots. Everything else you might reasonably wonder about.

I got a link. What do I do?
Open it and allow the camera. That is it — you are in the film. You do not need an account.
While you are shooting
The camera will not open
The browser is holding the permission, not us. In Safari, tap the aA in the address bar, then Website Settings, then Camera, then Allow. In Chrome it is behind the lock icon. Reload after.
I ran out of shots
Ask the host — they can add more in two taps. Or accept it, which is arguably the point.
Do I have to keep the tab open?
No. Shots upload the moment you take them. Close it, put the phone away, come back later — your remaining count is exactly where you left it.
Can I shoot from a laptop?
You can, and the photograph will look like it was taken on a laptop. We would think hard about it.
Waiting for it to develop
Where did my photo go?
Into the sealed film. You will get the whole roll, including your own shots, when it develops.
Can I delete a photo I took?
Yes, while the film is sealed, from the counter screen. After it develops, ask the host.
Someone used my shots
They picked up your phone and spent your film on the ceiling. That part is between the two of you. Ask the host for a top-up.
I never got the developed film
Check the address you opened the link with. If it is still missing, write to us and include the film name.

Who can see my photos?
Only people who were in the same film, and only after it develops. Films are never public and never indexed.
What we hold
Where are the photographs stored?
Encrypted, in London and Frankfurt. No frame ever sits on a public address — every image is served through a signed link that expires.
What resolution do I get back?
Whatever your camera shot, unmodified. The film look is applied as a separate copy — the original is always in your download.
How long are films kept?
Free films for 30 days. Paid films indefinitely, until you delete them.
What do you collect about me?
The address you opened the link with, the film you are in, and the shots you took. Not your location, not your contacts, not the rest of your camera roll.
Taking it back down
Can I have a photo of me removed?
Yes, whether or not you took it. Ask the host, or write to privacy@trycapsule.app with the film name. It goes from every copy, including downloads that have not happened yet.
Do you train models on my photos?
No. Not on the photos, not on the metadata, not on anything in a film.
Deleting a film for good
A host can delete a film from its settings. Download links die immediately and the frames are gone from storage, backups included, within 30 days.
Nothing matches .
Try a plainer word — “seal”, “shots”, “download”, “delete”. Or skip the search: we would rather answer it ourselves than have you give up on it.
